MPSC has recently published a notice regarding the Exam Scheme and Syllabus of the State Services Main Examination on its official website. Download Notice Here The exam is conducted by the Govt. of Maharashtra for the purpose of recruitment of individuals to positions in various departments. The MPSC exam is taken yearly in English and Marathi medium. Before appearing in the exam, candidates should practice the previous years’ papers of the MPSC Prelims and Mains Exam. The exam is conducted through a qualifying 2 Prelims Papers followed by 6 Mains Papers, there are no optional subjects.
MPSC Prelims Exam- 2 papers- 400 marks
MPSC Mains Exam- 6 papers- 800 marks
MPSC Interview- 100 marks
MPSC 2023 will be conducted through a Prelim Exam with 2 Papers, and the Main Exam with 6 mandatory Papers. The Prelim examination serves as a qualifier for the Main exam.
The authorities release the MPSC answer key for prelims soon after the exam. Candidates must obtain a min of 33% in the Prelims to be eligible for the MPSC Mains exam.
Both the paper comprises 200 marks each
Time duration of each paper is 2 hours
The aspirants will get a deduction of 1/4th mark for every incorrect answer. Previously, the aspirants got a deduction of ⅓ marks for every wrong answer.
All the questions are set in Marathi and English
The marks of Prelims will be counted only for short listing the aspirants for the MPSC Mains exam.
MPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2023
The aspirants, who will secure the minimum MPSC cutoff marks, decided by the Commission will be released the admit card to take the MPSC Mains Exam.
MPSC Mains 2023 will have 6 Papers.
The objective questions carry a negative marking of 1/4th for every wrong answer. Previously, the aspirants got a deduction of ⅓ marks for every wrong answer.
The questions of decision making in paper II has no negative marking in case of incorrectly answered questions.
In every MPSC Mains exam paper, the qualifying marks both for General category and reserved category candidates are 45 marks and 40 marks respectively.
MPSC Personality Test
This is the last stage of the MPSC selection process
The aspirants, who will secure the cutoff score in paper II, will appear for the interview round.
The MPSC Personality Test will be held by a panel of competent and unbiased members.
Through the interview round, the knowledge of current affairs, in-depth knowledge, communication skill and mental ability of the aspirants will be tested.

What is the required eligibility for writing MPSC 2023 exam?
Ans. Candidates are required to have passed Graduation or Diploma (min 3 years) from a recognized University. Candidates must also be a minimum of 18 years of age and max 33 years
(35 & 38 years for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively).
Is it mandatory to write the MPSC Prelims exam?
All candidates are absolutely required to write the Prelims examination as it performs as a qualifier to the MPSC Mains exam. Min 33% in the Prelims is required to be eligible for
the MPSC Mains exam.
